Day 01 (25 Oct, 2009): Arrive at Kathmandu On arrival in Kathmandu you are met by our representative who will transport you to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu for the night.
Day 02 (26 Oct, 2009): Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Trek to Phadking (2700m) You have a scenic flight of 30 – 35 minutes to Lukla (2800m) from Kathmandu. In Lukla you can see the airline office and numerous lodges. The trail from Lukla leads you to Chablung (2700) and it descends steeply to the Tharo Kosi which is also known as Kusum Kangru Khola (river). Beyond the Tharo Kosi Bridge, the trail climbs to Ghat (2590) and again climbs to Phadking. In Phadking you can climb to the gompa to see your first view of the high peaks. Now you will really feeling like you have arrived in the Himalayan Kingdom. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Phadking.
Day 03 (27 Oct, 2009): Phadking to Namche Bazaar (3420m) From Phadking the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and reaches Zamphuti. From here you can see excellent views of Thamserku peak. Then the trail climbs to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project, an interesting place to have a look around and gain an insight into the farming way of life of these people. From Chomoa, the trail again climbs to Monjo (2840m) and enters the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park (1148sq km, established in 1976). Walking some distance up hill you will be at Jorsale (2830m) and after a long climb with views of Mt. Everest peeking over the ridge of Nuptse (7879m) the trail reaches the street of Namche Bazaar. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Namche Bazaar (3420m).
Day 04 (28 Oct, 2009): Acclimatization in Namche (3420) After having breakfast take some sightseeing around Namche Bazaar. Then you can hike to the Everest View Hotel, the ideal place to overview some of the outstanding mountains such as Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse etc. Make sure you have your camera to capture this moment. You can walk around the Khumjung valley, Hillery School and Khunde Hospital and then return back to Namche. In the centre of Namche you can visit the mountaineering museum and visit the Sagarmata Pollution Control Committee (SPCC). In Namche Bazaar you can spend some time interacting with the fun-loving Sherpa and Rai people. In Namche above the police check post you will see Sagarmatha National Park headquarters and if you want to look at the visitor centre it is open from 8am to 4pm except Saturdays and holidays. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Namche.
Day 05 (29 Oct, 2009): Namche to Phortse Thanga (3500m) Climbing the hill to Khumjung, turning the north Gokyo route you can reach to Mong (Mohang) which is known as the birth place of the Saint Lama Sanga Dorje, the reincarnation lama of Rongbuk Monastery. The trail descends to the Dudh Koshi and enters at Phortse Thanga. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Phortse Thanga.
Day 06 (30 Oct, 2009): Phortse Thanga to Dole (4200m) The trail climbs steeply through rhododendron forests, passing many Kharkas on its way to Tongba (3950m) and Gyele (3960m) and finally Dole. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Dole.
Day 07 (31 Oct, 2009): Dole to Machhermo (4410m) The trail climbs through a huge rock at Lhabarma (4330m) and carries on to Luza (4340m).From Luza the trail continues to climb to Machhermo (4410m) where you can have good views of the mountains. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Machhermo.
Day 08 (01 Nov, 2009): Machhermo to Gokyo (4750m) Passing through Machhermo the trail climbs and reaches Pangka (4390m). Beyond Pangka the trail drops and again climbs steeply. From there you can see the massive Ngozmpa Glacier and finally you arrive at Gokyo. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Gokyo.
Day 09 (02 Nov, 2009): Acclimatization day in Gokyo After having breakfast you can take a look around Gokyo valley. If you want to observe the best view you have to climb Gokyo RI (5357m) which is also called Kala Pattar but not the Kala Pattar above Gorakshep. From here you have panoramic views of Cho Oyu (8201m), Gyachung Kang (7922m), Everest, Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (4063m), Cholaste and Tawachee. Back to Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Gokyo.
Day 10 (03 Nov, 2009): Gokyo to Thangna From Gokyo the trail descends, looking at the views of the fine mountains and natural beauty, towards Thangna which is consider as the base of Cho -La Pass. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Thangna.
Day 11 (04 Nov, 2009): Thangna to Dzongla (4830m) Today the trail descends again and leads you across the moraine, to the glacier which you must cross. From here you can see a beautiful view of the icefall before you reach Dzongla. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Dzongla.
Day 12 (05 Nov, 2009): Dzongla to Lobuche (4910m) The trail continues along the moraine from Dzongla affording you splendid views of Kala Pattar and Pumori before you reach Lobuche. Stay at Guest house- Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Lobuche.
Day 13 (06 Nov, 2009): Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5160m) The trail from Lobuche follows a route which is surrounded by mountains. After a gradual climb you will reach Gorak Shep which is also surrounded by mountains. You are now nestled high up amongst some of the tallest peaks in the world. Stay at Guesthouse – Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Gorak Shep.
Day 14 (07 Nov, 2009): Site trip to Kalapattar (5445m) and Everest Base Camp (5360m) Early in the morning hike to Kalapattar (5545m) which is the most exciting part of the trip and take in panoramic views of Mt. Everest, the way of the South Col Khumbu, the icefall and glacier and Pumori as well. Return to Gorek Shep, for Lunch. Have rest for the day O/N at Gorek Shep.
Day 15 (08 Nov, 2009): Rest Day at Gorek Shep After your breakfast go to Everest Base Camp (5400m) your guide will take you along the undulating trail to this much coveted place. From here you can observe the blue ice and the Khumbu icefall. This trekking will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime. Head back to Gorek Shep. Stay at Guesthouse – Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Gorek Shep.
Day 16 (09 Nov, 2009): Gorekshep to Lobuche to Lobuche Base Camp Today, is trekking from Gorekshep to Lobuche. Then from Lobuche, you will further trek about 4 hours to reach Lobuche Base Camp. You will begin to follow steep ascent path from Lobuche to finally arrive at Lobuche Base Camp, walking along the banks of Lobuche Glacier, enjoying the spectacular views of Cholaste, Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde, Thamserku and many more. O/N at Lobuche Base Camp.
Day 17 (10 Nov, 2009): Rest at Lobuche Base Camp This day, you will rest at Lobuche Base Camp for acclimatization and some necessary preparation. O/N at Base Camp.
Day 18 (11 Nov, 2009): Summit – Back to Base Camp This day, you will summit Lobuche and return back to Base Camp. O/N at Base Camp.
Day 19 (12 Nov, 2009): Lobuche Base Camp to Dingboche From Lobuche Base camp, you will return back to Dingboche. O/N at Dingboche.
Day 20 (13 Nov, 2009): Trek to Chhukung (4,730 m) After breakfast, you will hike to Chhukung valley (4730m) which is surrounded by mountains, it is a popular spot for climbers making attempts at Island peak and Chhukung RI. O/N at Chhukung.
Day 21 (14 Nov, 2009): Island Peak base camp Today is only 4 hours walking to reach the Base Camp. From today, the accommodation will be on tented camp and you will have a camp food cooked by our professional cook. Overnight at Camp.
Day 22 (15 Nov, 2009): Island Peak High camp (5,600 m) From Base Camp, you will trek further to Island Peak High Camp. O/N at High Camp.
Day 23 (16 Nov, 2009): Island Peak Summit (6,189 m) back to base camp Today is our main ‘Adventure Day’, we start early in the morning to climb Island peak but it all depends on the weather. We go up in the gully, traverse to the right, up on a wide stone field, cross the ridge to the glacier and crevasses. After a secure trip to the top, we safely make our way down then back to Base Camp the same day. O/N at Base Camp.
Day 24 (17 Nov, 2009): Base Camp to Dingbuche Form Island Peak Base Camp, you will trek back to Pangboche. O/N at Pangboche.
Day 25 (18 Nov, 2009): Dingbuche to Tengboche From Pangboche, you will further trek back to Tengboche. O/N at Tengboche.
Day 26 (19 Nov, 2009): Rest Day at Tengbuche You will visit the most popular Monastery in the Khumbu area . O/N at Tengboche.
Day 27 (20 Nov, 2009): Tengboche to Namche Trek back to Namche. Stay at Guesthouse – Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Namche.
Day 28 (21 Nov, 2009): Namche to Lukla Trek back to Lukla. Stay at Guesthouse – Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast. O/N at Lukla.
Day 29 (22 Nov, 2009): Lukla to Kathmandu Flight back to Kathmandu. Hotel, B.B. O/N at Kathmandu.
Day 30 (23 Nov, 2009): Departure Departure from Kathmandu to your onward destination. |
