Tibet Overland
This is a classic Tibet overland tour that commences in Kathmandu and drives you all the way across the roof of the world to the magical capital city of Lhasa. This drive in and fly out tour is the best way to get an all over sample of Tibet, its culture, history and breathtaking landscape. The drive takes you up the spectacular Bhote koshi valley and on to the plateau that is Tibet. You travel over high meadows filled with yaks, some of the highest road passes in the world, passed emerald colored lakes and exquisite villages. The tour allows you to sample some of the finest monasteries and sights in Tibet as well as get spectacular views of the Himalayas. Suggested Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu (1,300m) – Zhangmu (2,500m) – Nyalam (3,700m)
Early morning scenic drive to Kodari (Nepal/Tibet border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities both at the Nepalese and Chinese Immigration, check-in to hotel. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02: Zhangmu/Nyalam – Xegar/Lhatse (4,050m)
Day drive uphill to the highest plateau in the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering you the sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world. The road crosses over Lalung La (5,050), weather permitting you will a have breathtaking panorama of   the beautiful Himalayan range including Mt, Everest (8,848m) and Mt. Xishapagma (8,012m) dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03: Xegar – Xigatze (3,900m)
Continue the scenic drive, crossing over Gyatchu La (5.220m), the highest pass en route to Lhasa via Lhatse from where a road to Mt. Kailash branches off to the west. Overnight in hotel.

Day 04: Xigatze – Gyantse (3,950m)
Morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpa Monastery. Drive to Gyantse and visit to the Kunbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery. Overnight in hotel.

Day 05: Gyantse – Lhasa (3,650m)
Full day picturesque drive, crossing over Karola (5,000m) and Kambala (4,794m) passes, and passing the colorful Yamdrok Lake. Continue drive to the Tibetan life line river Bramhaputra (Yarlung Tsangpo) and on to Tsedang. Overnight in hotel.

Day 06 & 07: In Lhasa
Two full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa, including the Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazaar, Potala Place, Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Overnight in hotel.

Day 08: Lhasa – Kathmandu
Early morning drive to Airport for departure flight to Kathmandu or to your onward destination.
