Six hours drive east from Kathmandu is the district of Dolakha. This beautiful district sprawls amongst the Himalayan foothills, with rolling farm scenery, terraced rice paddies, pretty villages, clean rivers and the most superb views of the eastern Himalaya that you will see any where. Trekking in this region allows you to experience the lifestyle of the minority people that live in this region, Tamangs, Gurungs and Chettri people. This area is little touristed and this trek is a camping trek. The terrain is hilly but the trails are easy and you will not ascend to any great altitude, making this the ideal trek for first timers or families, or anyone interested in local culture and beautiful scenery. A highlight of the trek is a visit and over night stay in Namo bushed, a hill top Monastery from where you can get amazing views of the Himalaya at sun rise and sunset, if you are lucky you will see mount Everest.
