The remote areas of Nepal have a lot to offer in the way of attractions and scenery to the valuable visitors. It is more difficult to trek in these areas than Langtang, Everest and Annapurna Due to the remoteness and lack of facilities available. Many of these treks are fully supported and camping treks. To enter most of these areas you need special permits as they are protected areas for wildlife, the indigenous culture and fragile environment. The Himalayan scenery in these parts of Nepal is impressive. Over recent years the government and tourism board has realized the value of these areas to trekkers and more and more places are being opened up for trekking. Permits are beginning to be relaxed and in the future hopefully permit fees will be reduced. The regulations for the restricted area were designed primarily to protect the environment and culture of remote areas and to provide security, both for the safety of trekkers and the protection of Nepal. Trek to a restricted area must be arranged as a fully equipped camping trek through a registered trekking company. The company arranges the permit for this region.
