Kathmandu
Kathmandu Valley is the most enthralling city in Nepal situated at an altitude of 1,336 m above sea levels and covers an area of 218 square miles. It is known as the home to temples and rich cultural heritage. It is also the home of the ancient and sophisticated Newari culture... The must-see places in Kathmandu are:

  • Kathmandu Durbar Square
  • Swayambhu Nath Stupa
  • Pashupati Nath Temple
  • Boudha Nath Stupa and many others.

Bhaktapur
It is situated at an altitude of 1,401 meters and is covers an area of four square miles. The place is famous for woodcarving and the Bhadgaolen topi or cap. It is also renowned of its myriad wonders of cultural and artistic achievements. The most famous picture of this area is Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The place of 55 windows, the stone temple of Batsala Devi full of convoluted carvings, innumerable temples, architectural showpieces like the Lion Gate, the statue of king Bhupatindra Malla, the picture Gallery, the Batsala temple, etc are the major focal points of Bhaktapur Durbar square and it was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monuments List in 1979.

Patan
Patan is known as the city of fine arts, full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments. It has its own unique feel and personality, though only 6km from the heart of Kathmandu. This imposing sight fascinates the visitors at the first glimpse. The most impressive focal point is Patan Durbar Square full of ancient places, temples and shrines. The Square consists of three courtyards, the central Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshar Narayan Chowk and was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monuments List in 1979.

Lumbini
Lumbini is the birth place of Siddhartha Gautam who later known as Lord Gautam Buddha. It is one of the most significant pilgrimage destinations located in the southern Terai plains of Nepal. Buddha is known as the light of Asia. Millions of people around all over the world come here to visit. Lumbini is listed in the World Heritage Monument List by UNESCO. The Indian emperor Asoka identified and set the Asoka pillar in Lumbini which is the main attraction of this area. The other main attraction of this area is Maya Devi Temple, Scared Garden spread over 8sq km and scared pond Puskarni where Mayadevi had taken a bath before giving birth to Gautam Buddha. Lumbini holds the historical and religious significance of Nepal.

Nagarkot
It is 32km from Kathmandu at an altitude of 2300 meters where you will see the best views of the Himalayan Ranges in Nepal including Mount Everest. It offers the view of Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. From here you can watch the sunrise and sunset over the Himalayas. It contains a large number of Hotels.

Sundarijal
It is situated along the road from Gokarna. The word ’Sundarijal’ means “beautiful waters” and the stream that descends from the hill becomes eventually the Baghmati River, the most important one in the valley. Sundarijal is famous for its scenic beauty. In Sundarijal you will observe the magnificent waterfalls, cataracts and rock formations. It is an ideal picnic spot, just a short hike away from the motor able road.

Kakani
It is situated 23km, northwest of Kathmandu where you will see the panoramic views of western and central Himalayas spreading from Annapurna to Gauri Shankar. From here you will also have magnificent nice views of Ganesh Himal. It’s a wonderful and popular picnic place on the weekends.

Dhulikhel
Dhulikhel is a beautiful town just outside the Kathmandu valley gives one of the best views of the Himalayan ranges. It is headquarter of the district and the site of the first private university in Nepal. In Dhulikhel you will see the large number of Government office. Many tourists take early morning trips to Dhulikhel to see the awesome over the mountains.
Daman
The place to see the panoramic view of the entire Himalayan ranges visible from central Nepal which is better than Nagarkot or Dhulikhel is consider Daman. It is situated south of Kathmandu along the road to the Indian border.  During autumn it would be interesting to visit here. It is three and half hour drive from Kathmandu.
 
Namobuddha
It is popular one day trekking destination from Dhulikhel, situated on the hill above Panauti. This travel passes through interesting country and a number of small villages. Here you will see the fascinating stupa of Buddha. This is the enjoyable trek during monsoon season where you can have the striking scene.

Phulchowki
It is a beautiful place located about 10km southwest of Patan and is a good spot for hiking. Here you will see the Buddhist shrine situated on the top of the hill and which can be reached through a jeep able road. It is a natural garden of white and red roses, yellow jasmine, iris and other native flowers. Pulchoki is the most popular peak (2829m) which surrounds the Kathmandu Valley. From here the views of the Himalayas as well as the valley are excellent.

Nagarjun
Nagarjun is the best place which is only 6.2 miles from Kathmandu Valley. At the top of the hill of Nagarjun you will see the stunning Buddhist shrine which is very holy for both Hindu and Buddhist. Climbing 15 to 20 minutes you will reach to the top and it is an easy climb. From the top you can have the panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges which will strike your heart.

Tansen
It is the top most place in Nepal to visit which is situated at an altitude of 1,343m and is the most popular summer resort in western Nepal. It has the most extensive views of the country’s major attraction, the Himalaya from Dhaulagiri in the west to Gaurishankar in the northeast. It takes just seven hours by bus from Pokhara to reach Tansen.

Gorkha
It is the birth place of great king of Nepal Prithvi Narayan Shah, the founder of modern Nepal. It is situated on a hill overlooking the snowy peaks of the Himalaya. It is also known as the old place Gorkha Durbar which is beautiful and fascinating. Here you will see the two attractive temples of Gorakhnath and Kali. It can be reached in about six hours by road from Kathmandu.

Pokhara
Pokhara, an enchanting natural paradise proffers a heavenly beauty and serenity for the inquisitive travelers. The Valley is of 124 square feet, the home of a number of lakes, including the most renowned, Phewa Lake. In the middle of the lake the temple of goddess Barahi is situated. Boating and fishing are the major charm of Phewa Lake. Boating on the lake is a lovely way to spend your time here. The valley surrounding Pokhara is a home to thick forests, gushing rivers, clear lakes and the world famous views of the Himalaya.

Sarangkot
The famous village near to Pokhara is situated on the top of the hillock just north of Phewa Lake and is familiar to everyone. In Sarangkot one gets a chance to see beautiful views of sunrise and sunset as the sun splashes hues of red on the Himalayan range. On a clear day you will observe the panoramic view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Ganesh Himal.

Bandipur
Bandipur is a picturesque and romantic mountain resort town 4 hours drive from Kathmandu. From Bandipur at an altitude of 1005m, you have the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manasalu and Ganesh himal. From this scenic town you can see the mighty marshyandi river rushing down through lush terraced rice fields. Bandipur is an ancient mountain village inhabited by the Newari people. These people came to this place form the native area of bhuktapur, bringing with them their own unique culture and traditions. The Newars are friendly people who are only too happy to offer a smile and warm greetings. They are famous for their craftsman ship which results in many beautiful buildings. This medi evil town is mostly untouched by modernization and here you can enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility of life in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Manakamana
It is one of the most famous and popular pilgrimages sites in Nepal situated in the hillock near Gokarna. The temple of Manakamana is dedicated to the goddess Kali and Hindus believe that the Kali blesses and grants the pilgrims wishes. The temple of Goddesses Manakamana who has been widely believed to have the power to fulfill wishes of her devotees lies 125km to the west of Kathmandu. To get there it is easy. A cable car has recently connected with Kurintar on the Kathmandu Pokhara Highway.

Chitwan
Chitwan is one of the finest National parks in Asia which provides the opportunity to see animals in their habitat. It is known as the heart of the Jungle. The main attraction here is Royal Chitwan National Park. Royal Chitwan National Park is the home to more than 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tigers. This is also the home to around 600 plant species, 50 mammals, 526 birds and 49 amphibians and reptiles. For jungle safari Royal Chitwan National park is famous. Here you will travel through open grassland and dense forest on elephant back and while doing this you will come across different wild animals including rhinos, different kind of deer’s, wild boars, and in rare cases, tigers.

Janakpur
Janakpur is the most famous place to visit in Nepal. It is also a great religious place and is famous as the birthplace of Sita, the consort of Lord Ram. In Janakpur you will see an artistic marble temple of sita which is popularly known as “Janaki Manddir” and also known as Naulakha Mandir. In Bivaha and Ram Navami festival there is held a huge religious ceremony.  To access there it is easy. It is linked with Kathmandu by air and road.

Biratnagar
It is the most famous and second largest city of Nepal. Biratnagar is famous for its large number of industries.  It has some of the largest industrial undertakings in the country. It is also famous for its couple of pilgrimages spots in Dharan and Barahachhetra near by the city. Barahachhetra is the Hindu pilgrimage site located at the confluence of the two rivers. Here you will see the temple of Lord Baraha, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
