This newly opened trekking route is a side trip to the Annapurna Circuit, one of the most popular trekking regions in Nepal. This trek takes you of the well touristed trail and into the simple beautiful hidden valley of Narphu. This area is surrounded by steep ridge sided mountains and is full of lush and vibrant natural jungle and alpine forests. The area is tucked away behind the Annapurna Massive and not so far removed from the Tibetan border. Nar Phu is home to about 300 mountain people who make a living by grazing live stock. The trekking route is arduous but very beautiful, as you climb passes behind Manang and enter the valley. The trek rejoins the Annapurna trail, taking you over Throng La and to Mukthinath, the holy temple. You can finish the trek in Jomsom and fly out to Pokhara or you can continue on by foot.
